The Health Ministry has disclosed that a man who arrived in Trinidad from Nigeria and was admitted to a private hospital recently, does not have the deadly Ebola virus.
Officials say more than 1,550 people have died in the outbreak which started in Guinea.
At least 3,000 people have been infected with the virus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that more than 20,000 people are likely to be infected.
Health Minister, Dr. Fuad Khan, in an interview, confirmed that the man is expected to be released from the health facility soon.
