The Health Ministry is defending its efforts in light of increased cases of the mosquito borne chikungunya virus.
Health Minister, Dr Fuad Khan, sought to clear the air on the matter following reported comments in the media from two senior regional corporation officials about challenges encountered in tackling the situation.
Minister Fuad Khan said the Ministry’s Insect Vector Control Department record will show a proactive approach to addressing dengue and chikungunya.
He also confirmed that additional vehicles will be purchased to be used for the fogging programme.
