The issue of industrial action at the Sangre-Grande Hospital is raised in the House of Representatives.
Earlier this week some workers demonstrated, calling for the removal of the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Ameena Ali.
They claim she has a confrontational attitude in relating to employees.
The Public Services Association which represents the workers sought a meeting with the hospital’s chairman on the matter.
However, PSA President, Watson Duke, said that meeting did not come off and the union instead got a letter from the chairman indicating that the issue will be raised at the board level.
Health Minister , Dr Fuad Khan, who was questioned by Diego Martin Central Member of Parliament , Dr Amery Browne, on the issue explained that the industrial action of workers is not extensive and most of the staff are carrying out their duties.
Minister Khan also highlighted and defended the performance of the hospital’s CEO.
