The issue of industrial action at the Sangre-Grande Hospital is raised in the House of Representatives.

Earlier this week some workers demonstrated, calling for the removal of the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Ameena Ali.

They claim she has a confrontational attitude in relating to employees.

The Public Services Association which represents the workers sought a meeting with the hospital’s chairman on the matter.

However, PSA President, Watson Duke, said that meeting did not come off and the union instead got a letter from the chairman indicating that the issue will be raised at the board level.

The Union cannot tell the Managers how to run a hospital or who to fire and who not to fire. We they ever doing that in the PNM days no no. Workers can protest but they cannot run things as though they are the bosses.
