Government will address safety concerns of citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
It plans to convene a highly technical meeting to discuss the importation of meat and meat products into Trinidad and Tobago.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh confirmed this while addressing the media recently.
He disclosed that this was to ensure the safety of citizens.
There was concern recently with respect to imported meat after it was recently revealed that chicken being imported from the United States, may be over 180 days old and classified as unfit for humans.
The Health Minister said the meeting with the Ministries of Trade and Investment and Agriculture will take place in the next two weeks.
