The Chairman of the North Central Regional Authority Dr. Shehenazz Mohammed has said that there is no need to panic.
He made the comment after reports in the media of an Ebola scare at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC).
He confirmed that there was a patient who was transferred to the EWMSC from Mayaro was is being treated in isolation.
However she revealed that doctors believe the patient may have contracted Malaria or possibly Dengue Fever.
She also denied reports that the patient was left unattended when medical staff panicked.
Minister of Health Dr. Fuad Khan also gave an update on the state of the patient.
