Rumors have been circulating that there has been an Ebola case in the country.
Information making its way around the island was that an Ebola patient was being treated at a health institution here.
Health Minister Dr. Fuad Khan has pleaded with citizens to stop giving life to Ebola rumors.
He dismissed rumors that two persons from a West African country were warded at either the Caura or Mt. Hope Hospital after testing positive for the Ebola virus.
The Health Minister stated that he was working closely with the Ministry of National Security to step up preventative measures.
Dr. Khan also revealed that soon there would be passenger screening at the airports.
He disclosed that he felt optimistic that persons infected with the disease would have great difficulty entering the country since International airports have already begun the screening process for international passengers.
