Public Health officials in San Fernando have reported to News Power Now that they have received very few reports of dengue fever cases for the year thus far.
Senior Public Health Inspector Four, John Ramkhelawan, in an interview this week explained they continue their aggressive spraying programme in communities to eradicate the deadly aedes aegypti mosquito that can spread the dengue fever, chikungunya , yellow fever and other diseases.
However, Mr Ramkhelawan admitted they have encountered challenges in carrying out their duties as many of the homes visited in upscale areas are locked and as such they cannot gain access to do inspection.
