George Bovell III

In the absence of official communique from the swimmer himself or his once avowed coach, former Trinidad ad Tobago Minister of Sport Anil Roberts, or from the Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago, the reason for George Bovell III’s absence from World Swimming’s World Cup third leg opening-day in Hong Kong yesterday was not certain.

Bovell with successive double gold-silver collections from opening legs in Doha, Qatar and Dubai, UAE in August, was being targeted by his home Media for coverage of his continuing performances in the World Cup series which has other legs ahead in Moscow (October 4/5), Beijing (October 24/25), Japan (Oct 28/29) and Singapore (November 1/2).

Results of the Heats of both the 50-metre breaststroke and the 100-metre individual medley showed D N S to mean Did Not Start next to Bovell’s name,

The ace TT swimmer is penned as an entry for the 50-metre freestyle today and the wait is on with no official word on his whereabouts to track his participation or not.

In cricket it’s a lost cause for the Barbados Tridents in the Champions League T20 since they have lost their first three matches, They can save face winning their fourth and last today,
