An important meeting between the Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley, Finance Minister Colm Imbert, and other senior cabinet members as well various stakeholders and members of the private sector in Tobago is carded to take place today.
Head of the Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Demi John Cruikshank says that among the items to be discussed, is the procurement of a new vessel for the sea bridge.
He said the number of businesses that have shut down in the sister isle as a direct result of the sea bridge issue will also come up for discussion in the meeting.
Speaking on TV6’s Morning Edition program today, Mr. Cruickshank said while the Government has given a time line of April this year for the arrival of a new vessel, the people of Tobago simply cannot wait that long.
He said the daunting figures would be presented at today’s meeting with the hope that the stakeholders would be informed how the issues will be treated with and when.
