Persons traveling into Trinidad and Tobago are now being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days, upon arrival. Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh today urged persons to be responsible in light of the ongoing efforts to combat the COVID 19 Virus that has sent shockwaves around the world.
There are two confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Trinidad and Tobago to date. The first patient, a 52-year-old man from Switzerland, is said to be recovering well. The second patient however, is said to be isolated at the Couva Hospital and is “critically ill”. That patient’s condition is however said to be improving.
Health Minister, Terrence Deyalsingh told the nation that if everyone acts responsibly, the country will get through this. Travel bans have been placed on nine countries- China, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, France, Germany and Spain.
