There are reports of a heightened police presence in Enterprise, Chaguanas, and environs.
This in the aftermath of the murder of Central businessman Selwyn “Robocop” Alexis.
Family members, residents and police authorities have all expressed concern of reprisal killings in the wake of the murder.
Reports are that no “foreign” arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene of the crime, despite the fact that three people were killed by more than one type of gun.
Reports indicate that police patrols were scheduled for all areas in Enterprise.
Reports this morning also state that several houses were searched with eight people apprehended by police for questioning.
The imam of the Crown Trace Mosque was also detained by police, but it was unclear on what grounds he was taken into police custody.
Residents have reportedly chosen to stay indoors as there was no one seen walking the streets and/or liming on the blocks.
Even some of the busiest streets in the area, including Freedom, Crown Trace, Walter Lane and Bhagalloo Streets were devoid of residents since the shooting.
