Rekha Ramjit has resigned from her position as Political Leader of the Independent Liberal Party.
In a press release issued to the media, Ms. Ramjit said that her resignation is with immediate effect.

Ms. Ramjit said she’s convinced that the party made its mark and etched out its name in the annals of the Nation’s history.
She noted that regardless of how one chooses to measure success, one cannot deny the rich history that belongs to the party.

Ramjit described ILP founder Jack Warner as a great leader, an excellent motivator and one whose contribution to national
development would have been defining if he were gifted with the opportunity to serve. Warner failed in his bid to secure the Lopinot/Bon Air West seat. He was the lone candidate from his party to run in the election.

Speaking with reporters at his party’s headquarters on Monday evening, Mr Warner said the people had spoken and wished the constituents of Lopinot Bon Air West all the best.
