Injured police officer still warded at hospital

NEWS GRAPHIC 3The officer who was shot in Cameron Hill  yesterday is said to be resting comfortably at hospital.

Police Constable Clement David, sustained injuries to his thigh after he and other officers of the Western Division Task Force were fired upon.

Reports indicate that the officers were on patrol around 2 p.m. and upon reaching Guardia Street  were forced to stop their vehicle to remove three large boulders that had been placed across the road.

As they exited the vehicle , they were fired upon.

PC David was discovered injured and rushed to  Port of Spain General Hospital.

The area was locked down to facilitate the search for the eight armed men believed to be involved in the shooting.

Public Relations officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Inspector Wayne Mystar in an interview with News Power Now, stated that the hunt for the assailants continues today.
