Investigations continue into an incident that involved a Caribbean Airlines aircraft and a Jet Blue.

The two aircrafts reportedly almost collided at the JFK Airport in the United States on Saturday evening.

Reports indicate that a JetBlue flight 1295 ready to take off from New York to Austin, Texas had to abort the take off at the last minute after another plane crossed the runway.

The JetBlue aircraft had gathered full take-off speed when the other aircraft, a Caribbean Airways flight, later identified as Flight 526 crossed the runway without warning.

JET BLUE INCIDENT

In a release issued today Caribbean Airlines stated that it was committed to the safety and security of all passengers.
The Airline expressed concern over the alleged incident highlighted on internet news sites regarding JetBlue 1295, and BW flight 526 on Saturday night (17th January) at JFK airport, New York.
It further revealed that Caribbean Airlines viewed the allegations very seriously, and that it was committed to working with the industry authorities to investigate all the facts.
The release explained that CAL was in the process of carrying out its own investigations and compiling of the facts surrounding the allegation in cooperation with all Regulator agencies.
It said that in the interim Caribbean Airlines was complying with all incident management procedures included within its Safety Management System and adjunct regulations.
