President of the Islamic Front, Umar Abdullah says government must intervene and take seriously, the matter of the incarceration of five Trinidad and Tobago nationals in Venezela.
Together with family members and others concerned, Mr. Abdullah’s Islamic front group will hold peaceful demonstration outside of the Venezuelan consulate here in Trinidad, today.
He said simultaneously, the group’s Venezuelan counterparts will do the same, at the Trinidad and Tobago consulate, in a bid to have Venezuelan nationals who are incarcerated here, released.
In an interview with News Power Now, the Islamic Front Leader noted that the five nationals who are scheduled to appear in court in Venezuela tomorrow, on two new charges, which include espionage, are without their Trinidad and Tobago passports at this time.
He said based on the recent trade agreement between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, T&T’s incarcerated nationals shoul’ve already been sent home.
