Jamaica’s PJ Patterson was rushed to hospital late Monday evening after a reported motor vehicle accident at his upper St Andrew home. The island’s former Prime Minister was taken to the Tony Thwaites Wing of the University Hospital of the West Indies for check and observation, according to a statement.
The Jamaica Gleaner reports that the extent of Mr. Patterson’s injuries, if any, could not be immediately ascertained. “He is currently undergoing a complete medical evaluation. He is conscious and alert with family and friends,” Stewart said in the statement,” said his aide, Alston Stewart.
The incident is reported to have taken place at around 7:45pm on Monday.
