There is a request for serious consideration to be given to boost funding allocation for Tobago to help with developmental projects.

Several key areas for improvement has been identified among them Tourism, Education, Housing and Human Capital Development.

In THA’s budget presentation on Monday, Finance Secretary, Joel Jack, asked Central government for $5.3 billion dollars to manage the island’s affairs.

Of that figure, he said there is recurrent expenditure totaling $3.209 billion.

The Division of Health and Social Services received the biggest chunk of the THA budget with estimates of $793.9 million.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning, Mr. Jack lamented the fact that Tobago has always received the minimum of the budget allocation.
