The Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM) in a press release issues this afternoon says it has learned that there are plans to undermine the Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies (CCLCS), by establishing the Moot Industrial Court at the Law School in Debe.

The body explained that it advocated, for many years, for the establishment of a Moot Industrial Court, adding that this initiative even formed part of proposals recently submitted by the college to the Ministry of Labour.

The union body however said it is opposing any move to establish a Moot Industrial Court at any other place than at the Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies. Noting that this move by the ministry of Labour would be viewed as disrespectful and a blatant disregard of the college and the trade union movement, the JTUM reiterates that should this move materialize, it will be condemned.
