Head of the Retired Judges Association, Justice Zainool Hosein has painted a different picture in relation to the salary and pension increase.
He claimed that the needs of retired Judges in Trinidad and Tobago have been abandoned and disregarded for far too long.
He went on to say that judges have been unable to properly meet their financial needs after retirement.
Mr Hosein acknowledged that several sectors of society were not in agreement with the increase in pension for retired Judges but felt that it was because they did not have all the facts.
He lamented that unknown to many, retired Judges suffer financially.
Mr. Hosein revealed that this issue would also impact the quality of Judges that would accept the opportunity to sit on the bench.
