Despite the open door policy adopted by the Judiciary, the Public Services Association says it is still not satisfied about action taken at the San Fernando Magistrate’s Court on health and safety matters.
In a statement this week, the Judiciary said it has made attempts to hold discussions with representatives of the union, who have been invited to communicate its specific concerns to the Judiciary.
However, it added the union has failed to say what has led to the continued abandonment of workstations by some members of staff.
It explained despite their reliance on Section 15 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Chap. 88:08, no conditions have been cited that fall within the ambit of that Section.
However, PSA President, Watson Duke, in an interview claimed there are still safety challenges at the court.
