Concerns are being raised by the United National Congress about the legitimacy of the People’s National Movement led Government.
It is a comment made by incumbent UNC Political Leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar.
She made the statement as she responded to the decision of the court this week to grant the Opposition all clear to proceed with its legal bit to have the 2015 general election results in six marginal constituencies, declared null and void.
The Opposition is challenging the decision of the Elections and Boundaries Commission to extending the voting by one hour due to inclement weather.
On September 7th the PNM won the general elections securing 23 seats while the UNC got 18 constituencies.
Speaking during a public meeting this week in the build up to Saturday’s UNC internal elections, Mrs. Persad Bissessar welcomes the ruling of the court.
