KFC is not opening for business just yet. Confirmation of this has been reported by the Trinidad Newsday. The newspaper reports that an interview with KFC Trinidad and Tobago franchise holder, Christian Moutett, cleared all speculation.

Mr. Moutett, the Chairman of Prestige Holdings Limited explained that the Arawak chicken truck seen delivering chicken to one if its KFC locations was misconstrued. He said hampers are being made for staff members. “Today we packed 2,700 hampers for our hourly paid workers and those hampers would be collected at some of our stores tomorrow (Saturday). We are also providing fresh, uncooked chicken as part of the hampers. It doesn’t mean any phased opening is under way.”

Mr. Moutett said he did not know when normal business operations would resume.
