Avinash Seepersad, aka, ‘Krysis’, was arrested by officers of the Central Division Task Force during an anti-crime exercise, in the Enterprise area.

The exercise also resulted in the discovery of a revolver and six rounds of .38mm ammunition.

24 -year -old, Seepersad of St. John, Enterprise, was held at around 1:30pm on Wednesday, on four charges; assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, malicious

damage and using insulting language.

Officers were on patrol at Mano Drive, Enterprise, when they had cause to stop and search the suspect, after he was observed to be acting in a suspicious manner.

The arrest was captured on police body-worn cameras, which the officers were outfitted with at the time.

Seepersad, who was convicted for marijuana possession last month, was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and using insulting language by PC Anderson Ramjattan and malicious damage, by PC Gersham Prime, both of the Central Division Task Force.

He is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate today, to answer to the charges.

Officers, with the assistance of the Canine Branch, then proceeded to Bhagaloo Street, Enterprise, where they found the revolver, six rounds of ammunition and 150 grammes of marijuana, hidden within some concrete blocks.

No arrests were made in connection with the discovery of those items.
