The fisher folk were affected by oil spills in December last year.
State-owned energy company, Petrotrin compensated them.
However, La Brea Fisher folk Association President, Alvin La Borde, says the compensation came to an end in April this year.
In a News Power Now interview this afternoon, Mr La Borde confirmed they are yet to get the necessary authorization to continue their profession.
Mr La Borde also indicated two projects aimed at creating sustainable employment for the fisher folk have not started.
