Eighteen- year- old Brendon De Silva of Trou Macaque Road, Laventille and 26 year old Kerwin Fortune of Point Fortin, were charged jointly with 12 charges, including ten robbery charges and two charges of possession of a .380 Beretta pistol and four rounds of .38 ammunition.
De Silva was also slapped with six other charges of robbery, arising out of an alleged heist at a business place in Victoria Village, San Fernando.
The offences, which allegedly took place between April 14 and April 21, involved robberies at several business places, including four Chinese establishments. The victims were robbed of cell phones, cash and jewelry.
Today, appearing before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John in the San Fernando First Court, Fortune was granted bail to be approved by a clerk of the peace, however De Silva was denied bail, and advised of his right to apply to a judge in chambers for bail.
The police have since recovered $2,210, which was produced in court, along with the gun and ammunition allegedly used.
