The 2014/2015 law term was officially opened today with an interfaith service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port of Spain.
Several high ranking members from various arms of the state turned up to witness the event.
Father Clyde Harvey in his sermon said that many institutions in T&T are failing to fulfill their mandate.
He lamented the country’s high rate of extra judicial killings, adding that these can have a negative effect on the public confidence in the justice system.
