The interim executive of the Alliance of Independents over the weekend took a decision not to seek to contest this year’s General Elections on September 7th 2015.
In a release issued by the group, it explained that the decision was taken heeding the advice of its many members and supporters, to look to building the party’s infrastructure toward the Local Government Elections 2016, whilst also expanding its current demand campaign.
In a televised interview this morning, AOI Leader Nicole Dyer Griffith revealed that the aim of the party was to see how it could develop its structure to provide the public with a reliable alternative.
She revealed that the main focus of the AOI was to contest the local elections, and then continuing to build to 20/20.
The AOI Leader said that persons needed to move away from voting for a political Leader and get to know all the members of their chosen political party.
