Local contractors react to UWI’s decision to award south contract to Chinese firm

The University of the West Indies decision to award the construction of UWI South Campus contract to a Chinese firm is being described as a disappointment by local contractors.

UWI in a statement confirms the Chinese firm won the design and build contract valued at half a billion dollars adding proper procedures were followed.

However, in an interview Friday , former President of the Contractors Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Mikey Joseph, said concerns have been raised in the past with respect to the firm’s track record.
