President of the Islamic Missionaries Guild, Imitaz Mohammed, is blaming unscrupulous tour operators for several local Muslims being denied visa to travel to Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, about 80 local Muslims were denied the opportunity to go on Hajj, which is one of five pillars of Islam, after their visas were denied by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Venezuela.
Mr. Mohammed says persons who are authorized, to organize this trip of a lifetime to the holy land, are only interested in making money, without any regard for those persons who desire to fulfill their religious duties.
Mr. Mohammed claimed that there has been a sequence of events over the years, which has caused local Muslims to be denied visas. This year he alleges, that the local Hajj committee wrote to the Embassy in Venezuela urging them to once again deny visas.
