President of the National Parent Teachers Association, Zena Ramatali says recent remarks from the Minister of Education, Anthony Garcia highlighting low pass rates in English and Math at the CSEC level is cause for deep concern.
Speaking with News power Now this morning, Ramatali said that the NPTA would wish to see a breakdown of the results by region
and school, in order to properly identify gaps and implement effective solutions.
She noted that she is taking the Minister’s revelation very seriously, but said that the NPTA would not have an official response on the
matter until their Central Executive meeting carded for September 3rd.
Meanwhile, attempts to reach President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association, Devanand Sinanan and Second Vice President Lynsley Doodhai for comment, proved futile.
