gun crimeA post-mortem is expected to be performed at the St James Forensic Science Centre today, on the body of a Tacarigua man who attempted to stop another man from beating a woman outside a bar in Malabar on Saturday morning.

According to Police, at around 5.30 a.m. on Saturday, 50 year old Alston Hamlet was leaving the Pro Sports Bar along Malabar Branch Road, when he observed an argument between a man and a woman in a car.

The two men and the woman then fled the scene.

Arima CID officers along with Crime Scene Unit investigators later arrived and, after retrieving evidence, the body was moved to the Port of Spain Mortuary.

Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
