The Port of Spain City Council maintains it is not opposed to vending the Capital.
However, Port of Spain Mayor, Raymond Tim Kee, is insisting the Council will do what is necessary to ensure order .
Last week Charlotte Street vendors protested outside City Hall.
They called for two extra days to ply their trade because of the public holidays on Thursday and Friday.
Charlotte Street Vendors Association President, Melba Boxhill, in a News Power Now interview said they are upset with what they describe as new directives from the City Council relating to their operations.
Responding to the vendors concerns in an interview, Mayor Tim Kee said the Council will be firm in its decisions as it relates to the practice.
Mr. Tim Kee indicated issues relating to vagrancy and the socially displaced will also be addressed.
