Gender, Youth and Child Development Minister, Clifton De Coteau, gave the update at the weekly post cabinet news briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister on Thursday afternoon.
On Tuesday the Child Protection legislation and regulations governing nurseries and foster care homes was laid in the Senate and will be debated next week Wednesday.
Minister De Coteau noted the importance of taking a holistic approach to tackling challenges affecting families.
