Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development, Clifton De Coteau, is showing signs of improvement, after suffering a mild stroke last Wednesday.
On Saturday evening, he was said to be in stable condition at Surgi-Med Clinic in San Fernando.
Minister De Coteau was admitted to the nursing home after suffering a cerebellar bleed on Wednesday. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital to undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and returned to the private facility.
Tourism Minister Chandresh Sharma was among several Government ministers who visited Mr. De Coteau on Friday.
He said his colleague who is an excellent human being, has a strong sense of willpower and he is recovering very nicely.
He has positive energy around him,” Sharma said.
He said the minister was resting comfortably and was expected to return home soon.
Sharma said De Coteau’s speech and mobility were not severely affected.
Minister of Health Dr. Fuad Khan, who also visited Mr. De Coteau said he was recovering well.
