The Ministry of Education says it has not ignored calls from parents for infrastructural repairs at the Point Fortin East Secondary School.

It explains that records from the Education Facilities Planning and Procurement Division indicate that the Ministry spent over seven hundred thousand dollars to carry-out repairs at the institution during the 2019 July/August Vacation Repairs Programme.

In a media release the Ministry noted that emergency repairs were completed at the Point Fortin East Secondary School during the period December 4th to 9th 2019.

After the repairs were completed, inspectors from the Occupational Safety and Health Authority would have visited the school and granted the necessary approvals declaring the school safe for occupation by staff and students.

The Ministry plans to spend a further seven hundred thousand plus dollars on an additional seven projects at the Point Fortin East Secondary School.
