Minister of Transport, Stephen Cadiz, has announced that the safety barriers installed on the nation’s roadways have saved over 80 lives since they were installed.
Mr. Cadiz made the announcement in the Senate as he answered a question posed by Opposition Senator, Diane Baldeo-Chadeesingh.
Mr. Cadiz told the Upper house that programmes including the Rapid Response Unit and Highway Monitoring Units have been working.
On the long awaited speed guns, Mr. Cadiz explained that the Government was not going use radar guns to track driving speed.
