National Security Minister, Stuart Young today explained that limited resources led to the decision, to utilise the services of private security companies, in Trinidad and Tobago. Speaking during today’s virtual media conference, the Minister explained that government’s announcement yesterday, to use the resources of four private security companies to assist National Security, has been cancelled. The private companies were meant to be used for residential patrol.

Minister Young said the government’s understanding at present is that citizens ultimately feel safe enough, and do not require the security assistance of these four companies.
