Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Stuart Young, says in two weeks’ time the small cabinet sub-committee mandated to find a suitable vessel to operate on the inter-island ferry service between Port of Spain and Scarborough will report to citizens on progress made.

Minister Young told reporters that six attempts by the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago to acquire a vessel to address the transportation needs between the Trinidad and Tobago have failed.

Speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing at the Diplomatic Center, St Ann’s this afternoon, Minister Young said with the T&T Spirit still on dry dock and the T&T Express alone in operation there is need to ensure reliability going into the Christmas and Carnival period.
