A media statement bearing the letterhead of the Ministry of Health has been slammed as “fake” by the Ministry. The statement in itself speaks of the alleged positive results of COVID-19 tests, as indicated by controversial talk show host, Ian Alleyne.

The Ministry of Health is today warning the public against the illegal use of its letterhead, in any form.

On Tuesday evening three videos emerged, showing an emotional Ian Alleyne being recorded by his young son, after allegedly receiving confirmation of having tested positive for COVID-19. Alleyne alleged that he had spent time in Miami earlier this month with his family, including his son, and had returned to Trinidad prior to the self-distancing directives issued by government.

The Ministry of Health is yet to issue any confirmation as to the accuracy of Alleyne’s allegation of COVID-19 contraction. In the videos posted, he is seen in an emotional state. The final video was posted by his son.
