More condemnation for Transit police, this time from the Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation

Transit policeTwo out-going local government councillors are today expressing concern about corporation workers being ticketed when performing their duties along the priority bus route.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Morning Show on power 102.1 FM this morning, Marcia Chan Pak and Paul Leacock from the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation spoke to the issue of people dumping garbage along the bus route.

However they say the transit police impose fines on workers who are assigned to clean up the rubble.

tunapunaarchpreviewEarlier this year an investigation had to be launched after a transit police officer issued a ticket to a man trying to take his pregnant wife to the hospital.

Another issue raised by the councillors is the one of rats.

Mr. Leacock said the problem is not as minor as some in the population may think.

At the moment workers of the Board of Inland Revenue in Port of Spain are refusing to stay in the Trinidad house building because of, what they say, is a rat infestation.
