Workers at the House of Angostura, with the Support of the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union, were scheduled to engaged in protest action on Tuesday, meant to intensify their efforts calling for the removal of the company’s CEO as well as the Chief Financial Officer.
The demonstration was scheduled to begin at 11:15, outside the company’s head office on the Eastern Main Road, Laventille.
The SWWTU says it is very much concerned at the flagrant disregard of the principles governing good industrial relations practices that is being displayed by the CEO and the CFO.
The union says it is of the firm view that the behaviour being displayed by the CEO and CFO are not profile markers that can be easily dismissed or even corrected within a reasonable time frame.
Speaking with News Power Now, SWWTU President Michael Annisette stated that the conduct of the CEO and CFO has in fact contributed to a significant loss of trust and confidence in the management of Angostura.
He said that the workers and Union have placed their concerns on record and he believes that action would be taken to treat with the two executives.
