He was the lone passenger in a vehicle on the Lennox Yearwood expressway in Arima when police, acting on a information, intercepted the vehicle and held Alexander.
Mary Alexander spoke with reporters yesterday at her Arima home.
She revealed that she was shocked that her son was capable of such heinous acts.
Alexander became the most wanted man after the Brasso Seco kidnappings and subsequent murders.
Mrs. Alexander revealed that her son used to go to church with her.
She said that it confused her that he was being accused of such a horrible crime.
Mr Alexander has not been charged as yet.
He has other pending matters before the court including kidnapping, robbery and firearm related charges.
