Mounting criticisms against PM’s planned late meeting to discuss seabridge woes

The meeting carded for Monday August 21 between the Prime Minister and stakeholders, on the sea bridge matter, should have been done a long time ago.

This is the statement being made by President of the Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce Demi John Cruikshank.

Speaking this morning on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1fm, he said that while he commended the Prime Minister Rowley on his intervention in the serious issue, it should have happened before the situation reached crisis levels.

He said that the Chamber had called for the resignation of the Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan since the issues began, however they were told to give him a chance to fix the problem.

However he says now the situation has worsened.

Adding his voice to the situation, former Transportation Minister, Devant Maharaj this morning said the Prime Minister is simply on a Public Relations mission.

He drew light to the fact that the Port Authority board has not been invited to answer questions at the meeting.

He said the Minister of Transportation continues to defend the Port Authority board and has added his voice to calls for the board and the Transport Minister to be fired.
