A proposal from the Police Complaints Authority for the setting up of a unit in the service to probe police killings is getting the backing of the Movement for Social Justice.
On Tuesday P.C.A. Director, Gillian Lucky, made the recommendation when she and other members of the organisation appeared before the Joint Select Committee of Parliament.
M.S.J. recently called for a thorough and transparent probe into the controversial police killing of 21 year old Naim Dean in Glencoe.
In a News Power Now interview this afternoon, M.S.J. Public Relations Officer, Gregory Fernandez, said the suggestion from Ms Lucky is welcomed.
