The Opposition Leader is simply employing propaganda and scare tactics with recent comments she made concerning the IMF report on T&T’s economy.
This is according to Leader of the Movement for Social Justice Mr. David Abdullah.
He explained that the International Monetary Fund was only approached by countries that had balance of payments issues.
Abdullah revealed that Trinidad and Tobago did not fall into that category.
He made the comments in an interview this morning.
He stated that when the price of oil and gas began to fall in 2014, he said to the then People’s Partnership Government of which his party the MSJ was a part that they needed to take early measures to address the issue.
He revealed that even though he told the then Government that they needed to inform the public of the burgeoning problem, they did nothing about it.
The MSJ Leader also disclosed that he believed the Government was aware of the seriousness of the problem.
He said that the present administration had to take both short and long term steps to deal with the situation
