Attorney and Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister, Nafeesa Mohammed, has been dismissed.

Mohammed, the aunt of Tariq Mohammed who was one of thirteen arrested in the “credible threat to disrupt Carnival activities”, received a termination letter after a Facebook post she made regarding the incident.

She was reportedly at home on February 8th  when her nephew was arrested from their San Juan home.

According to Loop TT, the post which was later deleted, saw Mohammed speak about an alleged “cabal” within the People’s National Movement (PNM). She accused some people of being anti-muslim.

Mohammed took up the role as an advisor to the Prime Minister in December 2017.
