National Commission for Self Help CEO, Elroy Julien sent on Administrative Leave

In what appears to be the latest development in the tug of war involving the Chairman and other members of the Board of the National Commission for Self Help, the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Elroy Julien, has been sent on Administrative Leave.

Mr Julien was seen leaving the building, on upper Abercromby Street in Port of Spain on Monday afternoon as a contingent of Police officers had been summoned to escort him out, New Power Now understands.

In a battle involving the CEO and the Corporate Secretary on one side and the Chairman, Edgar Zephryne and some members of the Board on the other side, the Corporate Secretary, Kemba Thomas sought legal advice, in disputes with the Chairman.

The CEO has reportedly written to the Commission’s Line Minister, the Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Dr Nyan Gadsby Dolly.

CEO Mr Julien has only recently completed his period of probation, we understand.
