The National Health Workers Union is maintaining that medical personnel are yet to get a commitment in written from the state concerning the implementation of the 14 percent wage increase and back pay.
Last week Finance Minister, Larry Howai, said the employees’ new 14 percent added salaries will be reflected in their wages at the end of September with the back pay forthcoming in November.
However, in a News Power Now interview this afternoon, National Health Workers Union activist, Arlene Bynoe, said the matter was discussed with the wider membership at the San Fernando General Hospital today.
Ms Bynoe said the workers will continue to be vigilant on this issue especially in light of the upcoming general election.
