Head of the National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (NIDCO) Dr Carson Charles has sought to clear the air on a media report which claimed that the cost for proposed Curepe Interchange project was originally $187 million.
The article said its cost increased to $309 million which was then approved by Cabinet.
Dr. Charles explained that US firm Income Engineering Services Ltd was hired by Ministry of Works to conduct an estimate for the project.
Dr. Charles said a second company was hired to do another estimate and the discrepancy came about because another branch company may not have had all the information.
He described the media reports as mischievous.
