National Insurance coverage will be offered to some 11 thousand plus self-employed people across Trinidad and Tobago in the coming year. Minister Larry Howai made the revelation on Monday afternoon, explaining that all earners of emolument incomes have long been covered.
The Minister said the government proposes to amend the National Insurance act, to effect this coverage.
Minister Howai also announced a grand incentive for senior citizens and retired public service officers, referring to them as vulnerable within T&T’s social landscape.
